Havana, July 26 (RHC) - The Cuban team of Santa Clara defeated Chile by a 13x3 knockout in four innings and signed its ticket to the semifinals of the Latin American Little League Baseball Series (9-10 years).
In Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Aaron Concepcion was the highlight of the game. Not only because he hit the run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning, but also because he had pitched three innings and two outs.
He also pitched three and two-thirds innings in which he gave up four hits, allowed three runs and struck out five.
Cristofer Méndez, with two hits, including a two-run homer and a pair of runs batted in, and Ángel Espinosa, 2-2 with a tow, were also outstanding on offense.
In Saturday's semifinal, mentor Ganuza's team will face host Mexico. Puerto Rico and Venezuela will face each other in the other.
