Presidential campaigning ends in Ecuador ahead of Sunday's elections

Quito, February 4 (RHC)-- The candidates in the general elections in Ecuador this Sunday closed their campaigns on Thursday with a number of activities throughout the country.

According to the schedule of the National Electoral Council (CNE), aspirants to the Presidency and Vice-Presidency, as well as to the National Assembly (137 seats) and the Andean Parliament (five seats), are able to carry out political activities until midnight of this Thursday.

The presidential candidate of the coalition Unión por la Esperanza (UNES), Andres Arauz, first in voting intentions according to almost all polls, held his closing ceremony in Quito, the capital.

A total of 13,099,150 voters are eligible to vote in these elections on Sunday.
