Mexican president receives former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff

Mexico City, May 13 (RHC)-- Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador received on Wednesday the former president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, at the National Palace, seat of the executive branch.

"I received the former president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, at the National Palace. Tomorrow (Thursday) she will join us in the ceremony for the 700th anniversary of the founding of Tenochtitlan," the Mexican president wrote on her Twitter account.

Rousseff also held a meeting with the head of the Mexico City Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, who named her Distinguished Guest of the Mexican Capital.  "We welcome her and remember her fight for democracy, against inequality and her search for a fairer way of governing," Sheinbaum expressed in a tweet.

The former Brazilian head of state responded in another tweet: "The honor is mine.  Thank you very much for your reception."

Rousseff took part this Thursday as guest of honor in the ceremony "Seven centuries of history of Mexico City", with which the federal and local governments commemorate the founding of Tenochtitlan i
