Tehran, June 13 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro held a working meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Monday.

The meeting is part of the work agenda developed by the Bolivarian leader during his visit to Iran, third stop of his international tour; he previously visited Türkiye and Algeria.

This tour seeks to strengthen the long-term projections of Venezuela and several friendly nations in the areas of science and technology, agriculture, transportation, energy, tourism and culture.

The meeting between Maduro and Owji focused on the development of bilateral relations in energy, an area in which the two nations have taken steps to strengthen their technological, scientific and financial capabilities.

Caracas and Tehran have become a bridge for communication on hydrocarbons and the expansion of public policies in the areas of oil, petrochemicals and gas.

Previously, the Venezuelan head of state and Owji met in the Venezuelan capital on May 2nd, in the framework of a working visit of the Iranian official, who also spoke with his Venezuelan counterpart, Tareck El Aissami.

That meeting made it possible to examine the progress of the agreements established between Venezuela and Iran, especially those related to the hydrocarbons area.
