La Paz, January 9 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce has affirmed that Bolivians will not allow a new attack against democracy, after receiving the support of various social sectors of the department of Santa Cruz and the rest of the country.

"This is the Bolivian people who want to work and continue building a dignified and sovereign homeland, and tell the right wing that they will not allow a new attack against democracy.  Thank you for the support to our social organizations in the municipality of El Torno, Santa Cruz", wrote the Bolivian president through his social networks.

The social organizations of El Torno issued a statement in which they ratified their support to President Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca.   In the document, the organizations denounced that the protests in the city of Santa Cruz led by followers of the governor, Luis Fernando Camacho, prosecuted for the 2019 coup d'état, are part of a plan of "social and political convulsion to damage the economy" of the country, but also to "overthrow" the national government.

They also recalled the occasions in which the right wing promoted coup actions against President Arce, such as the indefinite strike calling for the abrogation of the Law Against Illicit Profits; the indefinite strike for the Census; and the protests after the arrest of Luis Fernando Camacho for the Coup I case.

In the face of these destabilizing actions, the social organizations requested the authorities of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary to bring justice and find those responsible for the coup d'état of 2019 that led to the massacres of Senkata, El Alto, and Sacaba, Cochabamba, which left more than twenty dead in November 2019.
