Bolivian President Luis Arce marches this Saturday on International Workers' Day

La Paz, May 2 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce, during a public activity this Saturday on International Workers' Day, affirmed that there are two vital elements in the defense of democracy and worker's rights.

"There are two requirements to defend our democracy and to defend workers in the country: unity and organization.  Unity to continue fighting for rights, so that the coup d'état that we have recently experienced is not repeated," said the president in Santa Cruz where the Bolivian Workers' Central (COB), the Government and the Plurinational Legislative Assembly came together on the occasion of International Workers' Day.

"Organization, strengthen our unions, strengthen our social organizations because from there they will be the points of resistance to the attack and threats to return to a coup d'état, destabilization of a government that has emerged from the ballot box, which has emerged from the popular will of the Bolivian people," added the president.

Luis Arce said that the unions and the Legislative Power must watch over the protection of the constitutional thread of the nation.  "We defend the people who want democracy, who want progress and development.  And the only way to guarantee this is that we govern ourselves in our own country," he added.

The Bolivian president thanked the daily effort of the working class "to move the country forward." Likewise, Luis "Lucho" Arce delivered three regulations and projects to the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) in commemoration of Labor Day.

Similarly, the executive secretary of the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB), Juan Carlos Huarachi, declared the commitment of the country's working class to guarantee political stability headed by the heads of state -- President Luis Arce Catacora and Vice President David Choquehuanca Céspedes.
