New York, August 27 (RHC)-- In the United States, IFCO (the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization) and Pastors for Peace, which have been organizing friendship caravans to Cuba in opposition to the U.S. blockade since 1992, has been informed by the IRS it is being stripped of its tax-exempt status.

According to an 'Action Alert' from the New York-based organization, this shameful action is occurring in the face of U.S. government efforts to normalize relations with Cuba, although it also occurs at the same time that the blockade is in effect.

IFCO/Pastors for Peace is calling on all its supporters to remain alert over the attempts to destroy the Cuba solidarity movement in the United States and demand that Pastors maintain their tax-exempt status.
