Firma Trump por un año más ley que sustenta el bloqueo a Cuba

Washington, September 10 (RHC) U.S. President Donald Trump renewed for another year the so-called Trading with the Enemy Act, a 1917 statute that supports the economic blockade imposed on Cuba.

"I have decided that it is in the United States' national interest to extend these measures concerning Cuba for one year," reads the statement.  Also, Trump extended his powers to grant himself freedom of action regarding compliance with that blockade and permits for individual transactions.

Trump had to decide before September 14 whether to extend the restrictions against the island under the so-called Trading with the Enemy Act, which then-President John Kennedy used in 1962 to impose the blockade on Cuba and which has since been renewed, year after year, by the successive ten administrations.
