Havana, January 12 (RHC)-- Political figures in Latin America repudiate Cuba's inclusion as a sponsor of terrorism in a controversial list drawn up by the US government.

Former Bolivian President Evo Morales (2006-2019) stated that the United States does not have the moral authority to put Cuba on the list.

Cuba is the most supportive country in the world. Amid a pandemic, it continues to send doctors who save lives. Meanwhile, the United States invades countries and organizes coups d'état,' the former Bolivian president said on Twitter.

The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, also on the same platform expressed that the Trump administration intends to undermine the path of international politics before going out the back door of world history.

We categorically reject the inclusion of our sister Republic of Cuba in the list of state sponsors of terrorism,' stated the Venezuelan leader.

Similarly, Sacha Llorenti, Secretary-General of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty, stressed that the US government's arbitrary decision not only violates the UN Charter and international law but is an insult to the peoples of the world.

Amid the pandemic and under a criminal blockade, Cuba is sending doctors and saving thousands and thousands of lives, he said. If there were a list of the countries sponsoring solidarity and life, Cuba would be in the first place,' emphasized Llorenti.

The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, also repudiated the Trump's government's decision to introduce Cuba in the spurious list.

The United States is incorporating the sister Republic of Cuba as a state that promotes and encourages terrorism and continues to pounce against international law and order, Ortega said.

Likewise, Colombian Senator Ivan Cepeda said that it is not surprising that, as a farewell, Trump includes Cuba in the list of states that sponsor terrorism.
