Havana, May 30 (RHC)--The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received on Saturday the Minister of Health of the Argentine Republic, Dr. Carla Vizzotti.

Dr. Vizzotti, accompanied by the Special Advisor of the Argentine Presidency, Cecilia Nicolini, made a working visit to Cuba to strengthen cooperation ties given the challenges posed by the confrontation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the fraternal encounter, both parties discussed the progress of Cuban vaccine candidates and the medicines the Caribbean island is developing against the disease. Likewise, they spoke about the bilateral cooperation potentialities and with other Latin American and Caribbean nations.

The Argentinian officials concluded their visit on Sunday.

In a press conference upon their arrival in Buenos Aires, Vizzoti described her visits to Mexico and Cuba as very productive and expressed her hopes for speeding up the processes related to Cuba’s antiCOVID-19 vaccine candidates.
