Havana, August 27 (RHC)-- The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel verified Friday the actions being carried out to recover production at the medical oxygen plant in the municipality of Cotorro, in Havana.

The president urged to work with speed and without wasting time since this weekend authorities expect the arrival in the country of the parts needed for the resumption of its operations.

According to the Twitter account of the Presidency in another message, Díaz-Canel also checked the strategy to face and solve the current deficit of this important item, which is essential amid the increase in the number of cases of Covid-19.

Cuba has had to look for alternatives to supply oxygen to hospitals, given the breakdown of the plant that guaranteed the needs of the entire national territory.

Small scattered factories have been placed at full capacity at the disposal of the health system, in addition to imports and donations from different countries.
