Havana, August 31 (RHC)-- Cuba approved on Tuesday a new vaccination schedule that will allow 92 percent of its population to be immunized against Covid-19 by the end of November, informed Public Health Ministry officials.

According to the Ministry's Director of Science and Technological Innovation, Ileana Morales, around five million Cubans will have received at least the first dose of one of the two national vaccines against the disease by September.

More than three million 600 thousand Cubans have completed the three-dose schemes with the anti-Covid-19 Abdala and Soberana02-SoberanaPlus drugs.

Meanwhile, the head of the BioCubaFarma business group, Eduardo Martínez, informed that the manufacture of all the necessary vaccines is expected to be completed by September.

Raul Guinovart, dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Havana, said that the forecast models indicate a decrease in the number of confirmed cases in most provinces in the coming days. However, the incidence is still high in several territories.
