Havana, October 6 (RHC)--  Floral offerings from Army General Raul Castro and the President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel, led the tribute on Tuesday to journalist Marta Rojas at the headquarters of the Granma newspaper.

Flowers from the head of state of the Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and the Association of Combatants of the Revolution also accompanied the funeral honors of the deceased writer.

Yailín Orta, director of Granma newspaper, said that Rojas is a symbol of that newspaper of which she was a founding member and that beyond being its workplace, it was her home.

She added that perhaps if it had not been for the exceptional testimony written by Marta Rojas on the events of July 26, we would not know precisely what happened to the young people who participated in the assaults of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, under the leadership of Fidel Castro.
