Havana, December 6 (RHC)-- The Center for International Policy Research of Cuba (CIPI) issued the call for the 19th edition of the Series of Conversations Cuba in the Foreign Policy of the United States of America.

The meeting will be held on December 15, 16, and 17 at the Higher Institute of International Relations "Raúl Roa García," with the theme United States-Cuba: obstacles and opportunities for a sustainable relationship.

This edition will take place at a particular moment, after a period in which bilateral ties were significantly eroded, with a sensitive impact on the Cuban population and the imposition of severe obstacles to developing a viable relationship, said the CIPI in its announcement.

The experience accumulated by experts and scholars includes understanding the challenges of a conflictive relationship and the benefits of a possible and proven coexistence.

This duality, the aspiration to advance in the search for a respectful and sustainable relationship, and the contrasting views on the conditions that influence the problematic interaction between the two countries motivate the meeting.

These meetings are a space for annual academic exchange. Cuban, U.S., and Latin American researchers, professors, and specialists examine and discuss the main aspects of U.S. foreign policy towards Cuba and the complex interaction between the two nations.
