Council of State meets before the ordinary session of Parliament

Havana, December 9 (RHC)-- The Council of State approved on Wednesday a new decree-law modifying Article 18 of Decree-Law No. 13 on the System of Work with State and Government Cadres and their Reserves, dated June 18, 2020.

 The new legal text establishes that the President of the Republic may exceptionally approve the performance in a cadre position of a person who holds another citizenship, in addition to Cuban citizenship, at the proposal of the corresponding authority, except for the cases provided for by law.

The Council of State also analyzed the four bills that will be submitted for the consideration of the deputies in the Eighth Ordinary Period of Sessions of the Ninth Legislature of the Cuban Parliament, convened as of December 21.

During the encounter, Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the People's Supreme Court, explained the peculiarities of the draft laws of the Military Courts and the Military Criminal Procedure.  Samuel Rodiles Planas, head of the National Institute of Territorial Planning and Urbanism, described the proposed normative regulation on territorial and urban planning and land management.

Oscar Silvera Martínez, Minister of Justice, presented the draft Family Code, with the purpose of submitting it to the consideration of the deputies, before the popular consultation that must be carried out on the latter, in compliance with the eleventh transitory provision of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.
