Havana, January 10 (RHC)-- Members of the Coordinating Committee of the Venceremos Brigade, made up of Americans in solidarity with Cuba, ratified the continuity of this project that emerged in 1969.

Their followers are preparing the 51st contingent to travel to the island this year.

Activists Nesbit Crutchfield, Oyensonwu Chatoyer, Sulan Mlynarek, and Rachel Ibrahimi were in Havana to hold meetings with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples  (ICAP) and other institutions to reiterate the determination to continue the long history of the brigade.

The local and national coordinating committees of "Venceremos" carry out community work in the United States, making known the truth about Cuba while undertaking various initiatives for the end of the U.S. blockade of the island.

Nesbit Crutchfield stressed the permanence of the brigade's motivation, which is to support the Cuban people and condemn the economic siege and the hostile policy of the White House against the island.

She pointed out that this hostile policy affects Cuban families on both sides of the Florida Straits and North Americans who see their rights to travel and interact with whomever they wish restricted. For this reason, they demand the normalization of relations.
