Havana, July 19 (RHC)-- Army General Raúl Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Nicaragua on the 43rd anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista People's Revolution (1979).

"On such a significant day for the brotherly Nicaraguan people, we extend our warmest congratulations on the 43rd anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution," the message reads.

The text ratifies the will of the Caribbean nation to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity with the homeland of Augusto César Sandino.

On July 19, 1979, the third and last armed revolution in Latin America and the Caribbean triumphed in the Central American country, preceded by the Mexican Revolution of 1910 and the Cuban Revolution of 1959.

With the triumph of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, 45 years of destruction under the yoke of the Somoza military dictatorship came to an end.
