Raul Castro Receives Solomon Islands Prime Minister

Havana, July 26 (RHC) – On Friday afternoon, Cuban President Raul Castro received Solomon Island Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the meeting both leaders spoke on the good bilateral relations and the cooperation possibilities. They also tackled the international situation

Darcy Lilo was accompanied by his General Attorney, Billy Titiulu, and the new ambassador to Cuba, Simeon Bouro. On the Cuban side were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, General Attorney, Dario Delgado, and Foreign Deputy Minister, Rogelio Sierra.

 

On Friday, Lilo paid tribute to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti and visited the House of Asia located in the historic centre of Havana Vieja.

The Solomon Islands prime minister reiterated his country's willingness to strengthen solidarity with Cuba, a country confronted with the economic, trade and financial blockade set by the United States for more than 50 years.
