Gómez Sánchez offered examples of cases aimed at creating in the public feelings of hatred and discredit towards the Cuban Revolution and its institutions.

Havana, Nov 25 (RHC) At the final session of the First National Cybersecurity Workshop held in Havana, the need for international laws to regulate or prohibit the use of cyberspace for subversive purposes was discussed on Friday.

Javier Gomez Sanchez, dean of the Faculty of Audiovisual Media Arts of the Higher Institute of Arts, expressed this idea in his lecture "Social networks and fourth-generation conflicts".

The expert started by explaining how companies negotiate with the data extracted from users on such platforms, to use them as a political influence to destabilize States and governments.

In the presence of Rogelio Polanco, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and head of the Ideological Department, Gómez Sánchez offered concrete examples of cases aimed at creating feelings of hatred and discredit towards the Cuban Revolution and its institutions among the public.

"The media war has gone from rationality to emotionality, to generate contents of emotional impact that in turn permanently provoke a state of irritation in people," said the academic before representatives of various organizations, institutions, and university students of the Cybersecurity career.

The First National Cybersecurity Workshop was held on Wednesday at the Integrated Technological Research Complex of the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana (Cujae).

Communications Minister Mayra Arevich summarized the meeting (Source: ACN).
