Cuba to extend non-commercial import benefits for passengers

Havana, Dec 16 (RHC) On Thursday, the Cuban Finance and Prices Ministry (MFP) informed the decision of extending the non-commercial import of food, hygiene goods, and medicines as accompanied luggage by passengers and exempted from payment of customs tariffs.

 

According to the MFP, the measure will be temporally extended through June 30, 2023, with no limits in value and quantities.

 

Regarding the import of these non-commercial products for state-run entities and international economic associations, the statement indicated that an extension of tariff benefits will be granted to “imports in 2023.

The decision took into account the current limitations in food, hygiene, and medicine supply for the domestic market, as well as the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba. (Prensa Latina)
