He also congratulated the new secretariat elected at the plenary session and urged young people to promote the use of digital communication.

You are the ones in charge of modernizing the Revolution in the streets and networks, he assured.

"Communication cannot only be a process of information about what the organization does, but it also needs to be a process of active participation," he said.

He stressed that the Cuban Revolution is an unfinished work that cannot remain in a dead text, but requires action.

He pointed out that since its birth the FEU was inextricably linked to the patriotic tradition of Cuban students, besides having a long history of alliances with the working class.

Díaz-Canel called to work in the organization's cadre policy and to systematically use its guiding documents.

He recognized the role of university students during the Covid-19 pandemic and in other areas of social impact in the country.

During the closing ceremony of the conclave, the Federation of University Students presented the president with the 'Alma Mater' award for his trust and support to the Cuban student body.
