Havana, Feb 23 (RHC) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Thursday that Cuba is working to favor exchanges with the United States in all spheres, and noted that the procedures can be carried out here.

On his Twitter account, the foreign minister expressed hopes that “Cuban artists, academics, and athletes will be allowed once and for all to get visas in Havana to attend events” on US territory.

In January, the US Embassy in Havana started to process all immigrant visa categories. However, it only offers limited services for emergency non-immigrant visas, which hinders the procedures for the remaining travel categories.

Cultural, academic, and sports exchanges have been traditional between the two countries and have prospered since the restoration of diplomatic relations.

The closure of practically all services at the US Embassy in Cuba, under the pretext of alleged sonic attacks that could not be proven, has limited the flow of those mutually beneficial encounters by transferring the procedures to third countries.  (Source: PL).
