Cuban president congratulates new Vietnamese head of state

Havana, Mar 3 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated the new Vietnamese head of state, Vo Van Thuong.

 

In his message, Díaz-Canel expressed the fullest conviction that both nations will continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all spheres and the exemplary relations between our parties, governments, and peoples.

 

In his letter, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba reminded, that 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of the historic visit of Fidel Castro to the liberated territory.

 

In this context, the Cuban president reiterated to the new Vietnamese president ‘the will to continue working to preserve the traditional relations of brotherhood and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba’.

 

Vo Van Thuong was elected by the National Assembly (Parliament) as the new president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for a term that will run until 2026. (Source: Prensa Latina)
