Havana, June 11 (Web Network/RHC) --  The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and resident of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel conveyed Sunday his solidarity with the families affected by heavy rains in the center and east of the island.

"We are going to recovery, no one will be left helpless. Our recognition to the leaders and institutions that have faced with courage, heroism, decision and organization these events," the dignitary wrote on his official Twitter profile.

In another message, which he also accompanied with the hashtag Fuerza Cuba, he reported that he held a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca and members of the Secretariat Felix Duarte Ortega, Yoel Queipo Ruiz and Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, all supporting the eastern provinces.

"There are still flooded areas, the situation is improving and the provinces are beginning the recovery stage," Díaz-Canel said on that social network.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister of the Republic, Manuel Marrero Cruz, on a working visit to the Russian Federation, also sent a message of encouragement to the victims of the hydrometeorological situation.

He assured that he maintains a constant follow-up of each of the actions carried out in the country in favor of preserving human lives and protecting material goods.
