Havana, June 21 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and the president of the National Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, today ratified the common interest in deepening ties between their Parliaments.

In the meeting, both parties expressed their willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and collaboration between Cuba and Serbia.

The Cuban president also met with his counterpart, Aleksandar Vučić. During the exchange, they highlighted the need to increase collaboration in areas of common interest such as agriculture, biotechnology, culture, sports, teaching, education, health, and tourism.

Díaz-Canel also laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero, in tribute to the nation's martyrs.

Cuban Presidency stresses on Twitter that relations between the island and Serbia are developing at the highest political level, and are based on mutual respect and the historic ties of friendship that unite the two peoples.

This visit to Serbia is part of a tour of Europe that earlier took the Cuban delegation to Italy and Vatican City.

On June 22 and 23, the Cuban head of state, in his capacity as Chairman of the Group of 77 plus China, will participate in the "Summit for a New Global Financial Pact", to be held in Paris, France. (Source: ACN)
