In the space dedicated to multi-destination tourism between the Caribbean countries, one of the six scheduled in the Stained Glass Hall in the Antonio Maceo Revolution Square, Dr. Ivonne Santiesteban, head of business in Cuba for the entity, was in charge of the presentation.

The specialist referred to the potential and international prestige of the Cuban health system, with branches such as biotechnology, whose results are strengths to promote health tourism.

She mentioned those referring to cosmetic surgery, which is gaining momentum in various provinces; those of ophthalmology and especially those of cataract surgery and those aimed at retinitis pigmentosa, along with others of great interest among visitors such as cancer care.

In this last medical specialty, Santiesteban alluded to the operation of the National Institute, equipped with modern technologies and specialized personnel of a high professional level, inserted in other highly qualified institutions in Havana and other Cuban cities.

Among these cancer treatments, the directive emphasized immunological therapies and the inoculation of Cuban vaccines, among them lung cancer.

One of the successful lines of the Cuban Medical Services Marketer is dedicated to the fight against addictions, with international villas in the eastern provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Holguín and Granma, which accumulate decades of experience and professionalism in these complex fields of medical sciences.

The performances related to skin care, with advances in dermatology and the application of placental histotherapy, as well as other products for vitiligo and psoriasis were also highlighted by the expert.

Santiesteban also emphasized the strengths achieved in the neurological fields with the use of minimally invasive therapies, neurological restoration and epilepsy surgery, to which are added advances in orthopedics and cardiology. (Source: PL)
