Honduras raises its voice in favor of Cuba

Havana, Aug 12 (RHC) The Honduran Minister of Culture, Annarella Velez, affirmed in Tegucigalpa that Cuba is not alone, and highlighted her country's commitment to accompany the island in its fight against imperialism.

During the inauguration, the day before, of the 3rd Central American Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, the minister expressed that a sustained destabilization against a people that has never attacked US soil cannot be accepted.

She referred to the covert campaigns, sabotage and terrorism of which the Caribbean nation has been a victim, as well as an insidious propaganda disinformation machine orchestrated from the United States.

She added that the cause of the Cuban people is that of universal justice, and highlighted the capacity of Cubans and their help to various nations, including Honduras, in areas such as education, health, and culture; as well as their fidelity to their principles despite the hostility of the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade.

The solidarity forum with Cuba concludes this Sunday and brings together more than 100 delegates from Latin America and the Caribbean in the Honduran capital, who also pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), on the 97th anniversary of his birth (August 13).
