In the midst of a complex social context, since the debates in commissions began last Monday and in the last two days of sessions, attended by the leader of the Revolution, Raul Castro, and President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the parliamentarians have addressed the situation of the country with a critical view.

The day before, the results of the implementation of the Family Code were highlighted, although it was recognized that there are still ways to go in its implementation.

According to the Minister of Justice, Oscar Silveira, the implementation of this law, just one year and three months ago, has gone through multiple challenges of the legal institutions for its implementation.

The implementation of the Criminal Procedure Law was also discussed in this Second Ordinary Session.

In this regard, the President of the People's Supreme Court, Rubén Remigio Ferro, pointed out that since the entry into force of the law, more than eight training actions have been carried out for all the parties involved in the process.

He also recalled that among the new figures included in the Law are the nullities, the forms of participation of the victim, the modeling of the holding of the oral trial with the different parties and subjects, the means of challenge, the judicial control of the precautionary measure of provisional imprisonment, habeas corpus, among others.

Another of the topics addressed had to do with the results of the report of the results of the Highest Audit of the Ministry of Agriculture, in which it was learned that at the end of June, the agricultural production maintained a decrease in relation to the plan and to date of the 14 fundamental productions, only vegetables and corn are fulfilled.

During the meeting, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, acknowledged the work of the workers of the Ministry of Industries and especially the work of its head, Eloy Álvarez.

The minister recalled that in recent years, the Cuban economy and industry have been going through a complex scenario associated with the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island, the impact of the world crisis, the effects of the pandemic and the increase in the price of imported inputs, among other factors.

However, in spite of the complexities and limitations, continuity has been given to the process of consolidating the work of the ministry and its role in the recovery of the national economy. (Source:PL)
