Havana, March 17 (RHC) -- Cuba and Russia are considering the establishment of a cooperation program for the training of Cuban professionals in the Eurasian nation.

The prospects were discussed during the ongoing visit to Cuba of Russian Senator Kostantin Kosachov.

Kosachov, who also serves as head of the International Relations committee of the Council of the Russian Federation (Russian Senate), stated that under this initiative Russia will fund trips, accommodation and pay stipends to Cuban students in his country.

After giving a lecture at the University of Havana, Kosachiov said that issue will be discussed today with officials from the Cuban Ministry of Education to analyze ways to implement that project.
