Lisbon, Aug 22, (RHC), – The Municipal Assembly of Palmela, in the Portuguese district of Setúbal, passed a resolution calling for the immediate lifting of the US economic blockade of Cuba.

According to Cuba's diplomatic mission in Portugal, legislators in Palmela unanimously demanded the removal of US sanction on Cuba, a move they said would strengthen the independence, economic development and well-being of the Cuban people.

The normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States will only be possible when the blockade is lifted, adds the approved document, which will be delivered to the embassies of Cuba and the United States.
