Havana, December 12 (RHC)-- The President of Costa Rica Luis Guillermo Solís will arrive in Havana Sunday, to begin an official visit to Cuba.

During his stay, the Costa Rican head of state will hold talks with Cuban President Raúl Castro as part of a packed agenda.

An official statement issued by the Costa Rican presidency says that President Luis Guillermo Solís will travel accompanied by a large business delegation made up of more than 50 entrepreneurs, representing both, the state and private sectors and 23 economic areas.

The text adds that the visit here by the Costa Rican president will focus on promoting trade exchanges.

On Monday, the Costa Rican president will participate in a business meeting organized by the Foreign Trade Corporation of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) and Cuba's Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment.

PROCOMER is also reportedly organizing a meeting of Costa Rican and Cuban business executives, on December 14th and 15th, to explore investment opportunities in the Caribbean state.

President Luis Guillermo Solis is also scheduled to give a lecture on the history of relations between the two nations in the auditorium of the San Geronimo University College of Havana. Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Costa Rica were restored in 2009.
