French Frigate Arrives in Cuba for Friendly Visit

Havana, Jun 13 (RHC) -- A surveillance frigate of the French National Navy arrived on Sunday in Havana for a friendly visit that runs through June 16th.

The ship, F-735 Germinal and its crew were received by Ship Captain José Luis Souto Galindo, deputy Head of Department of the Cuban Revolutionary Navy and French Ambassador to Cuba Jean Marie Bruno.

On their first day here in Cuba, the French crew placed a wreath at the monument dedicated to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti statue in Old Havana's Central Park.

As part of their visit, they will pay courtesy visits to the Head of the Cuban Revolutionary Navy and the Provincial Assembly of people's Power, and will also tour social and cultural sites.

Germinal Commander, navy captain Michel Vaxelaire, said upon his arrival that the visit aims to strengthen friendship ties between Cuba and France.
