Havana, March 24 (RHC)—The José Martí Studies Center highlighted the publication, for the first time in French language of the war diaries of Cuban National Hero José Martí by the publishing house Ediciones CIDIHCA.

The new volume, entitled ‘Solo la luz es comparable a mi felicidad’, (Only light can match my happiness), was translated into French by Jacques-François Bonaldi, with preface by Cuban historian and researcher Pedro Pablo Rodríguez.

This is not the first time that Bonaldi translates works written by José Martí into French, and he does so while carefully preserving Martí’s style of writing.

The José Martí Studies Center said in a communique that the volume offers valuable information and thorough analysis, allowing readers to get to know Martí, his political ideas and anti-imperialist attitude, as well as the historical context of 19th century Cuba.
