International Poetry Festival Cuba 2021

Havana, April 8 (RHC)—Some 250 Cuban and foreign writers, representing 40 nations, will participate in the International Poetry Festival that will be held online from May 25th through the 30th from Havana.

Organized by the CubaPoesía cultural center, the National Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC), the Cuban Book Institute and the Cuban Ministry of Culture, the event is presided over by Cuban National Literature Prize laureate Nancy Morejón.

The online program includes poetry readings, music recitals, poetry forums, debates on poets’ role in today’s world, a workshop on poetry writing and the Meeting of Poets in Defense of Humanity.

The Poetry Festival will be dedicated this time to the 60th anniversary of the National Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) and to the iconic speech by Revolution leader Fidel Castro known as ‘Palabras a los intelectuales’ or (Words to Intellectuals).
