Environmental Film Festival Jibarama- 2021

Holguin, April 23 (RHC)-- The 11th edition of the Gibara Environmental Film Festival Jibarama 2021 began Thursday on digital platforms, with a wide program of activities that promotes film and environmental protection and preservation actions in that coastal municipality of Holguín province.

Dedicated to Gibara and its natural environment, Jibarama runs through April 25th, dedicated to outstanding filmmaker, the late Humberto Solás, founder of the Gibara Low-Budget Film Festival, on his 80th birthday anniversary.

José Corella, a member of the organizing committee, told the press that the complex health situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic in Cuba forced the organizers to redesign the festival, which in addition to promoting various audiovisual materials on environmental issues, also includes drawing and photography contests for children.

Other activities include exchanges with artists and film personalities, as well as virtual tours of institutions and places of recognized cultural and heritage value.
