Havana, February 8 (RHC) - Cuban triple jumpers Leyanis Perez and Liadagmis Povea made it 1-2 at the athletic meeting in Mondeville, France.

21 years old and fourth at the Eugene-2022 World Championships, Leyanis Perez stretched to 14.48 m, to improve her lifetime personal record in indoor competitions.

The young Cuban triple jump talent, who had been second two weeks ago in Karlshure, Germany (14.45), improved by one centimeter her personal best, achieved last year in Miramas, France.

Povea, 27 years old and fifth in Tokyo-2020, this time was second with 14.39, after her debut two weeks ago with a triumph in Karlshure, where she achieved a personal best (14.64) and beat Leyanis Perez.

Another Cuban who competed on Wednesday was Maikel Masso, Olympic bronze medalist in the long jump, who made his debut in the winter athletics season with third place in the Orlen Copernicus meeting in Torun, Poland.

Massó jumped 7.84 meters, in an event won by the Olympic champion of Tokyo-2020, the Greek Miltiadis Tentoglou, who dominated with the world's best mark of the season (8.40), followed by the Swedish Thobias Montler (8.17).

At the meeting itself, Gudaf Tsegay of Ethiopia moved up to second place on the world all-time list for the indoor mile, clocking 4: 16.16 in an overwhelming victory.

The Torun meeting was the third World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold this season.
