Cuban high jumper Luis Enrique Zayas won in the athletic meeting in Kladno, Czech Republic, with bronze category of the World Athletics (WA) Continental Tour.

Havana, June 14 (RHC).- Cuban high jumper Luis Enrique Zayas won in the athletic meeting in Kladno, Czech Republic, with bronze category of the World Athletics (WA) Continental Tour.

Champion of the Pan American Games in Lima 2019 and fifth in the World Championships in Doha, the same year, Zayas won with a mark of 2.22 meters, according to the official website of the event.

The jumper from Santiago de Cuba, who achieved his personal outdoor record this season with 2.31m in San Vito (Italy), had won on Sunday in another event in Sweden with a jump of 2.25.

Zayas was joined in Kladno by Belgium's Thomas Carmoy (2.19m) and Mexico's Erick Portillo (2.15).

And this Wednesday continues the European tour of Cuban athletics at the Meeting in Castellón (Spain).

A total of 8 Cuban athletes will compete, including Olympic 400m finalist Roxana Gómez, whose best result of the year is 50.60 sec, and world champion and Olympic bronze medalist in discus, Denia Caballero, who will be making her debut in Europe, after throwing 61.86 in Havana in recent days.

The list is completed by Silinda Morales (discus), Eduardo Nápoles (pole vault), Greysis Roble and Keily Pérez (100m hurdles), and Aniel Molina and Maykel Vidal (long jump).
