An eighth place with a personal best was achieved by Cuba's Gerdan Fonseca in the javelin throw at the World Parathletics Championships in Paris.

Turkey's Muhammet Khalvandi, Paralympic champion in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016, won the silver medal.

This event guarantees direct tickets to the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Paralympic titleholders Omara Durand (T12, sprint) and Robiel Yankiel Sol (T47, long jump) are also part of the Cuban delegation and have their debuts scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, in that order.
