Volleyball coaches from several countries to receive course in Havana

Havana, February 21 (JIT) - Almost 30 coaches from seven countries will participate in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Level I International Course, which will take place from the 21st to the 25th at the national school of this sport.

The 16 host coaches will be joined by 13 coaches from Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia and Sri Lanka, who will receive a comprehensive programme on different topics from renowned specialists.

As in 2023 in this venue, the Brazilian coach Antonio Rizola will be the main teacher of this course, in which participants will deepen their knowledge on theory and methodology of training, and tactical actions in the teaching of this discipline, among others, said to JIT the methodologist of the Cuban federation Frank Almendariz.

Professor Nelson J. Ramirez, director of the FIVB Regional Volleyball Development Centre, based in Santo Domingo, will supervise this training programme for the North, Central American and Caribbean confederation.

During the training sessions, renowned Cuban specialists have been invited to give presentations on different topics. FIVB instructors Justo Morales and Argelio Hernandez will speak on physical preparation and mini-volleyball, respectively.

International referee Ricardo Borroto will be in charge of rules and refereeing and Dr. Lázaro O'Farril will be in charge of injuries and rehabilitation.
