Volleyball course

Havana, February 27 (JIT) - The international level one course for volleyball coaches given in Havana by professor Antonio Rizola concluded successfully this weekend.

Held at the National Volleyball School, the course ended with the approval of the 36 Cuban teachers enrolled.

Antonio Rizola, coach of the Colombian women's national team and instructor of courses of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), took the reins throughout an intense week of theoretical and practical work.    

At the closing of the event, the specialist expressed his gratitude to the Cuban Volleyball Federation (FCV) and the national sports system for the possibility of coming to share his knowledge. 

He also highlighted the privilege of exchanging with personalities of this sport on the island such as Idolo Gilberto Herrera, Justo Morales and several Olympic champions, members of the generations of the Morenas del Caribe.

About the course, he acknowledged the existence of very advanced teachers in their professional skills, and that all the planned objectives were met. 

Ariel Sainz, president of the FCV, expressed his deep appreciation for their presence in the country and the work done, before proposing to repeat the experience later this year.

Sainz assured that, as now, this new course will contribute to the strengthening of knowledge and the training of young and experienced Cuban coaches. 

The course, of a theoretical-practical nature, had evaluations in precisely those areas. The best record was that of a member of the national U-21 technical team, Professor Mario Raúl Izquierdo Pérez.
