Ramallah, Feb 26 (RHC)-- Israeli forces used tear gas to disperse protesters gathered outside Ofer military prison near Ramallah in support of an imprisoned Palestinian activist. Clashes erupted when Israeli forces tried to disperse the crowd by hurling tear gas canisters directly at protesters and by spraying pepper gas at their faces.
According to local reports, the Israeli forces arrested three Palestinian minors and a journalist during the course of the clashes.
Protesters with flags and signs demanded the release of Palestinian activist Munther Amira, the head of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) in the West Bank, who was arrested during protests back in December.
