La Paz, October 23 (RHC)-- The Movement Towards Socialism and its presidential and vice presidential candidates -- Luis Arce and David Choquehuanca -- won the elections in Bolivia, reaching 55.10 percent of the votes, according to the web site of the Plurinational Electoral Body (OEP) at the closing of the official and definitive count of 100 percent of the votes.

For its part, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Bolivia (TSE) presented on Friday the official results of the vote count of the presidential elections held last Sunday, October 18.

The candidacy of MAS-IPSP won with 55.10 percent of the votes.  The political forces that followed were Comunidad Ciudadana (CC), by Carlos Mesa, with 28.83 percent and Creemos, by Luis Fernando Camacho, with 14 percent.

For his part, the former Bolivian president and leader of MAS, Evo Morales, commented on his Twitter account that "not even the sum of the votes that the opposition obtained in this year's elections managed to surpass the percentage of the vote reached by MAS.  Unquestionable support of the Bolivian people."
