Havana, February 9 (RHC)-- A new group of Cuban health professionals arrived in Tanzania on Monday to contribute to the African country's health system, the Caribbean Foreign Ministry said.

According to its website Cubaminrex, the doctors and nurses will work at the Muhimbili Hospital of national reference.

In 2017, that institution and the Cuban Ministry of Health signed a bilateral collaboration agreement 'which is being satisfactorily fulfilled,' the note added.

According to the island's Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Cuban state has sent more than 400,000 health professionals to 164 countries throughout its cooperation history.

Given the current epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19, the Henry Reeve internationalist brigade has participated in the fight against the pandemic in some 40 countries.
