Cuba reports 914 new COVID infections, 5 deaths

Havana, March 3 (RHC)-- Cuba's third COVID-19 wave remains resisting control, despite numerous measures adopted by the island's authorities.

The national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported on Wednesday 914 new cases, and 5 deaths due to Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Since March 2020, 52,501 have been diagnosed with the disease on the island, and there have been 333 fatalities.

Dr. Duran said on national TV that as of midnight, 19,100 patients had been admitted in hospitals and isolation centers, of which 3116 were suspected, 11,498 were under epidemiological surveillance and 4,486 were confirmed cases.

Havana reported 302 new cases. It was followed by Pinar del Rio with 156 and Granma with 83 respectively.
