Cuba confirms 5,617 new cases of COVID-19 and 48 deaths

Havana, September 29 (RHC)--  On Wednesday, Cuba reported 5617 new cases of Covid-19 and 48 deaths due to complications of the disease, the lowest number of deaths in the last two months.

 

During this morning's press conference, Dr. Francisco Durán García, Director of the Epidemiology Department of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) explained that in the last 24 hours 43,062 PCR samples were processed throughout the country, accumulating 9,509,303 studies performed.

 

He noted that since the beginning of the pandemic in the country in March 2020, 872 425 (9.2%) people have tested positive for the coronavirus and 7378 persons have died since its onset which represents a 0.85%.
