Havana, February 11 (RHC)-- Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa paid a working visit to the eastern province of Holguín on Thursday, where he exchanged with officials of the People's Power on the structure approved for local government bodies.

During a tour of the Expo Holguin precinct, the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) reiterated the role of the municipal assemblies in the development of their territories, as an essential structure of the socioeconomic and political model chosen by Cubans.

Sharing Valdés Mesa's agenda were the first secretary of the PCC in that province, Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, and governor Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, among other executives.

The vice-president of the Republic also checked other economic issues such as sugar production and the operation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in northeastern Cuba.
