Havana, October 12 (RHC)-- Political Bureau member and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee Roberto Morales Ojeda on Wednesday congratulated the specialists and workers of the Institute of Meteorology (Insmet) on the 57th anniversary of its founding.

On his Twitter account, the official recalled the date of creation of the institution by Dr. Antonio Núñez Jiménez (1923-1998), then president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.

Meanwhile, Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, also congratulated, on the same social network, the founders, young people and directors of the center for their professionalism and dedication.

The Minister defined those who work in the National Meteorological System as a group of innovators par excellence who put their talent at the service of the people.

Insmet was created in 1965 with the objective of providing authoritative, reliable and timely meteorological and climatic information on the state and future behavior of the atmosphere.
