The blockade constitutes a generalized violation of the right to life of all Cubans

Havana, Oct 31 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked on Monday the growing signs of solidarity from many countries with the island and their accompaniment in the fight against more than six decades of the U.S. blockade.

On his Twitter account, the president said that "solidarity sets the pace in these days before the presentation of Cuba's truth at the UN".

He assured that "the world will once again speak out against the blockade that unsuccessfully tries to take away even our smiles. Thanks to friends from so many countries who do not stop fighting".

On November 2 and 3, the Antillean country will present for the thirtieth time a resolution entitled 'Necessity of putting an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba', which has been supported on each occasion by the overwhelming majority of the members of the international organization.

Over the past weekend, numerous demonstrations of support for Cuba were held in cities around the world, including in the United States itself.

As recently revealed by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, between August 2021 and February 2022 alone, the Caribbean nation suffered record losses of three billion 806 million dollars, a figure 49 percent higher than that reported in the period from January to July 2021.
