New Delhi, January 27 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel sent congratulations to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Republic Day, according to the Cuban embassy in Havana on Thursday.

The Cuban president reaffirmed the will of the Caribbean country to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations and peoples.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez sent a congratulatory message to his Indian counterpart, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to whom he conveyed best wishes for the welfare and prosperity of the Indian people and reaffirmed the will to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

India celebrated on Thursday the Republic Day, date that commemorates the entry into force of the Constitution of the South Asian country, on January 26, 1950, culminating moment in its process of independence from British colonialism.
