Cuban president tours neighborhood under transformation

Havana, Feb 3 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, toured the Morro-Portocarrero community, located in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality, Havana, being transformed to improve the living conditions of its inhabitants.

 

During his visit to the territory of around six thousand inhabitants, the head of state, spoke with neighbors and local authorities who worked together to repair different establishments in the area.

 

According to a national television report, after a year of work in the demarcation it has been possible to improve streets, sidewalks, and the provision of basic services.

 

The president called on the inhabitants to support the brigades that carry out construction work.

 

Díaz-Canel stressed that despite the difficulties imposed by the US blockade, “we must continue doing things with our efforts.”

 

The president also addressed the process to nominate candidates for the National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) that takes place in the country. (Source: Prensa Latina)
